CHILDREN

Eye disorders are amongst the most common long-term health problems experienced by children and routine development tests may not recognise many such disorders. With 1 in 5 Australian kids suffering from undetected vision problems, a full comprehensive eye test before primary school commences and regularly thereafter is of great importance.

Regular eye examinations allow children to maximise their potential and ensure that they are not missing out, both in the classroom and the world around them. Outcomes for childhood eye disorders are often far better when picked up earlier, which could make a huge difference in your child's overall development.

Our optometrists are trained in testing children's vision and will help to ensure a comfortable environment for your child, allowing our testing techniques to be as accurate as possible. We also offer a wide variety of lenses designed for the specific needs of school aged children and young, developing eyes.

Our vast range of frames accommodates for infants through to pre-teens, including various colours, shapes and styles from brands such as Lacoste, Nike and Hello Kitty. We are also more than happy to do further investigation beyond the extensive range readily available to ensure we find the perfect pair of glasses for your child.

MiYOSMART LENSES

You may have noticed your child struggling to see clearly at a distance, making it harder to concentrate at school and have an enjoyable experience during sport and play. Is your child like many others now-days, spending more and more time in front of computers, phones and screens?

Your child may have Myopia, also known as near-sightedness.

MiYOSMART Lenses are innovative spectacle lenses for myopia control developed by HOYA. Beyond correcting myopic refractive error, a two-year clinical trial shows that MiYOSMART  lenses with D.I.M.S ( Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments) technology work to curb myopia progression on average 60%.

An estimated 5 billion people, or half the global population could be affected by short-sidedness (Myopia) by 2050.

Research shows that more time spent on near-work activities is associated with greater likelihood of myopia.
